Nachdem die Übernahme von DoubleClick durch Google am 11.3 ihren Abschluss fand, kündigte Google Chairman und CEO Eric Schmidt im offiziellen Google-Blog mögliche Personalkürzungen an. Er schreibt, dass in den nächsten Wochen ein Integrationsprozess stattfinden werde, bei dem auch darauf geachtet würde, ob die richtigen Leute auf den richtigen Plätzen sitzen.
Entlassungen seien bei einem Zusammenschluss nicht ungewöhnlich, wie er erläutert: „As with most mergers, there may be reductions in headcount. We expect these to take place in the U.S. and possibly in other regions as well. We know that DoubleClick is built on the strength of its people. For this reason we’ll strive to minimize the impact of this process on all of our clients and employees.”
